Machine Vision Line Scan Cameras
JADAK’s machine vision streaming line scan camera is designed to capture high-resolution images at high speed, one pixel line at a time. Used in OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), as well as other applications that require fast, high-resolution image processing, our machine vision line cameras are all customizable to business’ precise needs.
Learn MoreFeatures and Benefits
- Field upgradability: Streaming cameras are designed to be evergreen, and they can be updated in the field with enhancements, patches, and new features.
- High speed image output: Both area and line streaming cameras are designed for transmitting image data at high speeds. This makes them suitable for a variety of applications, including surgical, industrial, medical, and traffic control
- Greater precision: The high definition and speed of streaming allows for to-the-second feedback. This is crucial in the medical field, for example, when surgical procedures are taking place
- Modularity: As modular cameras, our machine vision streaming cameras can be adapted to include multiple, swappable sensors. Software can also be integrated in a modular fashion, with hundreds of Verilog modules available
- Faster time to market: Camera hardware can be used without modification. Robust designs and FPGA customization options mean there is a faster TTM.
- Fewer errors: The high-speed, real-time streaming of production lines means that product issues are detected easily, leading to less faulty products reaching end stages

Machine Vision Streaming Camera FAQs
JADAK has two core camera models for real-time streaming.
- Area cameras: these are USB enabled, and are proven for use in surgical, industrial, medical and traffic control environments. Area cameras capture a complete image in a single frame using a matrix of pixels.
- Line cameras: suitable for production lines and IVD tasks, line cameras capture images one line at a time using a single row of pixels. The lines of pixels are seamlessly stitched together to form a complete image as the object being captured moves past the camera.
Yes. One of the key benefits of JADAK’s streaming cameras is that the hardware and software is fully customizable. Advanced capabilities can be added to the streaming cameras in FPGA, including customized LightWise pipelines, ROI sequencing, image filters, frame averaging, and enhancements.
